Microblogging site Twitter had last week announced the facility for Twitter Blue users to upload videos up to 2 hours and 8GB in size. Since buying Twitter, Musk has been surprising people with his decisions. Now the company’s CEO and billionaire Elon Musk has announced two new features for the microblogging site Twitter. Here we are telling you in detail about the new features available on Twitter.

Twitter is getting a seek button
Musk said Twitter will include 15-second forward and back seek buttons during video playback. Musk gave this information while replying to a tweet in which a user had asked the owner of Twitter to add 15 second forward and back seek buttons.

“Coming next week, with Pick in Pick, so you can watch videos while you’re scrolling,” Musk said. He said that there will be a picture-in-picture mode for users to watch videos so that they can scroll while watching the video. Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode isolates a video player into a floating window and usually places it in a corner so that scrolling is not disrupted.

Twitter users have issued their reaction on Twitter regarding this new change, some of whose tweets are as follows.

One user commented, “Thank you. This is exactly the feature I want too, this is what I was thinking of missing.”

Another user wrote, “Thank you, I skip a lot of videos because of this.”

“All these suggestions are enough to make it as good as YouTube,” another user wrote. “I wonder how much it would cost to clone YouTube’s features, maybe now it’s cheaper to code with AI.”

Apart from longer videos, the micro blogging site also revealed that it will soon introduce video and voice call features on the platform. Musk announced that direct messages (DMs) are now encrypted for Twitter Blue users. By default, the encryption function is not active and users must actively opt-in to use it. Musk had promised new features on Twitter last year when he talked about making Twitter an all-in-one app.
