All is not well between the world’s richest man Elon Musk and microblogging platform Twitter. Musk had recently created a sensation by proposing to buy Twitter. Now he has taken a dig at the Twitter board. In response to a user’s post criticizing the board, Musk tweeted that if my bid is successful, the board’s salary will be $0. This is a saving of $3 million (approximately Rs 22 crore) per year.

It is noteworthy that last week Elon Musk had offered $43 billion to buy 100 percent stake in Twitter. Musk’s net worth is more than $300 billion. He currently holds 9.1 percent stake in Twitter. He is its second largest shareholder.

For some time now, Elon Musk has been attacking Twitter one after the other. In a poll last Thursday, he asked his 80 million followers whether Twitter should be bought privately for the shareholders, not for the board. In response to this, most of the people answered yes.

Elon Musk, who has criticized Twitter’s policies, has not explained anything in detail about his tweet. According to Reuters, Twitter has also not yet responded to his comment.

Recently he also talked about removing crypto bots from Twitter, which post scams on Twitter. He said in a TED Talk that if I had one Dogecoin for every crypto scam I saw, I would have about 100 billion Dogecoins. A big priority for me will be to remove spam and scam bots on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Twitter shares are up nearly 4 percent at $46.85 (roughly Rs. 3,580), still well below Musk’s offer of $54.20 (roughly Rs. 4,140) per share. Elon Musk had disclosed his stake in Twitter on April 4 this month. Since then the company’s shares have increased by about 15 percent. These are expected to increase further.
