Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has brought a new and amazing feature for its iPhone users. With the latest update, iPhone users have got biometric authentication. Users will be able to easily lock and unlock WhatsApp on their iPhone with the help of Face ID or Touch ID. With the help of this feature, WhatsApp chats of iPhone users will now become even more secure. This feature can also be rolled out for Android users in the coming time.
Use Face ID or Touch ID like this for WhatsApp
After the latest update, you will now be able to lock WhatsApp with the help of Face ID and Touch ID. For this you have to go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Screen Lock. After going to screen lock, this app will show you the available authentication methods – Face ID or Touch ID. You can choose any of these. If you want, you can set the biometric authentication immediately or at an interval of one minute, 15 minutes or even 1 hour.
Apart from this, WhatsApp users will still get the facility to reply to messages directly from the notification panel and take calls without biometric authentication. The way Outlook is unlocked with biometric authentication. Face ID or Touch ID will also unlock WhatsApp in the same way.
It is worth noting that Google Pay already supports Face ID and Touch ID biometric authentication. To experience the new changes, you will have to download the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store. The size of the app is 137.7 MB and it will work on all iPhone models equipped with iOS 8.0 and above.
