Government officials say this step will further expand the reach of this app.

India is one of the countries that has declared the biggest lockdown across the country to fight the coronavirus pandemic. To protect its citizens, along with the lockdown, last month the government launched the Aarogya Setu App, which is a Bluetooth and GPS based app. It helps people to keep distance from Corona virus infected people by tracking them.

Let us tell you, this app launched by the government was released for 50 crore smartphone users in India, but only 9 crore smartphone users have downloaded it on their phones so far. Apart from this, there are 40 crore people in India who use feature phones, who do not come under the purview of this app.

Arogya Setu app will get Rs 10 crore in the coming days jio phone Will be rolled out for users. Jio Phone is priced at Rs 1,200, which is an internet-enabled feature phone. This phone works on an operating system named KaiOS.

This feature phone was launched by Reliance Industries in the year 2017, in which 4G support is present. Users can also use apps like Facebook and WhatsApp in this phone.

The use of tracing apps like Aarogya Setu app speeds up the process of identifying, testing and isolating people who have come in contact with the virus.

Apart from this, as we mentioned earlier, the government has also issued a toll free number. In fact, the government has released a toll-free service under the Aarogya Setu Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). In this service, citizens have to make a missed call on a toll-free number, that number is ‘1921’. After making a missed call on this number, you will get a call back, in this call inputs related to your health will be taken. These are the same questions that are asked in the Arogya Setu app, based on the answers to these questions you will be alerted whether you are at risk of corona virus or not.
