These malware-laden apps advertise themselves with attractive features like photo editing, game enhancements, business tools, VPN hacks, etc. The report further states that after Meta alerted Apple and Google, these 400 dangerous apps were removed from their respective online stores.
Meta said it would tell potential victims how they can avoid being “attacked again”. For this, the company is explaining to users how to better spot problematic apps that steal credentials for Facebook or other accounts. The company says that the meta system has led to dangerous activity and has also clarified that it is not necessary that the passwords of all 1 million people have been compromised.
