How to make Facebook Messenger your default SMS app

Facebook wants to become the medium for every conversation you have in written words on your smartphone. We are saying this because this social media company has once again decided to integrate the SMS feature in its Messenger app.

From Wednesday, in most countries it has become possible to send SMS through the Messenger app on the Android platform. Keep in mind that this feature will not be activated automatically. For this you will have to go to the settings and make some changes.

1. First go to Settings in the Facebook Messenger app.

2. After this select SMS from the given options.

3. Now finally switch on the default SMS app.

With this, Messenger app will also become your default SMS app. Messenger chats and SMS chats can be identified through color coding. Facebook Messenger chats will appear in blue color and SMS chats will appear in purple color. It is known that for SMS and MMS sent through this app also, you will have to pay the price set by the telecom operator.

SMS sent through Messenger app will be available to users of every platform. And they won’t even know that these SMS were not sent using standard texting apps.

Once you connect SMS to Messenger, you’ll also be able to send Facebook stickers, photos, videos, and audio in text messages.
